What to wear at sporting events?

I always think what am I going to wear when cheering on my favorite hockey player my son JT! I also think about what is appropriate to wear to a game how do I look put together but don't want to appear overdressed. 

This also comes to question on what do you wear to a pro sporting event? So we will tackle that first! You want to look cute but not so overdressed where you stand out? Right?

It is really hard when you have to into a cold rink and the only thing you want to wear is your down coat and a pair of uggs.

So I searched a little and I personally thinks it depends on your own style and how comfortable you are with your style and the other factor is that what environment will you be in? Will you be in a warm stadium, wet soccer field, bitter cold rink?

These are funny.... The first picture is of Beyonce at a basketball game. They have her wearing a stylish hat but most likely she was in the front row.. I don't know about you but I am hoping I am not sitting behind her! LOL... I know this would not work in a ice rink as I would be the talk on both teams!

This next look is a cute simple style for a baseball game. Cute tank and accessorize. Today I accessorized  a bulky Cardigan with a skinny jean and a tall burgundy boot!

So this next style shows How you can turn a basic tank into a cute look.. layer some pretty bracelets and a cute earring.

Wear makeup! A boring coat and a boot will look better with a bold red lipstick. Red really is not my thing so I love wearing a shinny brown and I just notice putting that on makes everything look better. I think thought bold lips with anything dressing will make you look high maintenance.

Jersey or no jersey?

If you want to wear a jersey wear a fitted one. I have worn my sons hockey jersey with a skinny jean but when I go to a professional hockey game I will wear my fitted jersey.

I love to dress up and I mange to do that on a daily basis. It is hard to dress for a kids sporting event. I do struggle by wanting to just fall back on jeans, boots sweatshirts or in the summer flip flops and a tee. The bleachers are uncomfortable and you don't want to look like you tried to hard or not trying hard enough.

Dressing for kids sporting events can be tough for many reasons.. We are not at a professional game that is temperature controlled.  For me this is a rink that may be cold but if I am not familiar with the rink it may be warm.

1. Dress for the weather!

 Here is Ohio the weather can be so tricky especially during baseball season. Last year one night during June I had a coat jeans and a sweatshirt during a baseball game.  Then 2 days later shorts, tee and flip flops.

I love layers! This looks stylish and put together. Tee, jacket or sweater and swap out your purse for a stylish tote to hold your layers so you can hold the layers and maybe a pair of shades.

2.Wear the right shoes! 

The fields can be wet and dirty and the bleachers can be slippery.

What do we want to wear... Athletic shoes or flip flops!

Wear a driving shoe that can look great and stylish but can be wiped clean if you wander into the mud or you are leaving the hockey rink and it is snowing!

I am a fan of boots! Love the cozy uggs and the tall boots but in the beginning of hockey season which is most likely in September I don't want to pull out the boots so I would like to wear a cute athletic shoe. I have a pair of high top coach shoes that I love and pair o Tommy Hilfiger plaid shoes.

Heels are bad for any kids sporting event! 

Stick with your style!

Sometimes the hardest part of kids sports is the other parents as it can be huge trying to fit in. JUST BE YOURSELF!!!

If someone wears sweatshirt and sweatpants that does not mean you have to wear the same thing! I sometimes do wear the team sweatshirt and I do accessorize it! There is a mom on my sons hockey team that always looks s cute! She had a scarf made from her sons old tee shirts and wears it so stylish!

Blog 2 on the "Transition" from Winter to spring... UGH... What do I wear!!!

Today is February 27th and March is less then 48 hours away.

I don't think I have ever wanted to see March in my life. It has been cold and biter here in Ohio. I always have a plan the night before on what will I wear the next day! I usually have a cute outfit picked out and then.... I look outside and there is ice and snow and it is -4 and I opt for my Blue Camo  jeans with a chunky black sweater and then put on my ice blue Uggs. 

So what can I wear to make it a stylish transition!

1. Wear a stylish leather vest

This is a great layering piece and will make the transition easy from winter into early spring.

3. Lighten Up!

Spring is when everything is in bloom and gray skies fade into sunshine. This is the time of year to gradually add to your wardrobe. Wear pastel color sweater and a flirty skirt with a boot.

Slowly work in the seasons hottest colors slowly!

Go with a blush color sweater and a ivory pant. I love the ice blue color. Put away the harsh brown and red sweaters for the transition. No I am not saying do not have red and brown in the spring and summer it is just a red sweater with ivory pant still screams winter to me. Now a red boat neck sweater and a White Bermuda short. Classic Summer look!!

4. Dare to go bare!

I think the transition from winter to spring is the hardest for us women. We realize that the seasons ahead will require less clothing and we notice our bodies have been covered up for several months!

Trick: Go bare in small doses. Wear a crop pant, add a sleeveless blouse just balance the look.

5.Accessorize!!!

This transition from winter to summer is more then just changing your clothing but your accessories, make-up and nail polish!

Like Above: Switch out the drab black bulky tote for a brighter color or a stylish clutch. How about a lighter color nail polish? 

As always by changing something like an accessory is a cheap way to change up a season. 

Example.. Black pant? Wear a strappy heel... Think outside the box!

WOW... Fashion made the headlines on NBC Today show? Debate White and Gold or Blue and Black

So this is what the different sides actually see!

I did not expect the today show to have the debate about the color of a dress. Earl, JT and I were watching and I said well why are they asking.. it is clearly white and gold and JT agreed with me and Earl thought we were crazy and saw black and blue.

Everyone had an opinion including Taylor Swift...

So clearly people see gold and white and some people see the blue and black.

From what I read it seems to be that it has to do with psychology/vision issues related to the brain's natural process for adjusting to varying lighting conditions; 

Wired has a clear explanation of that theory. 

When this first was posted people thought maybe this was a prank because there was no explanation of why people saw the dress in 2 different shades.

Without you having to worry about it, your brain figures out what color light is bouncing off the thing your eyes are looking at, and essentially subtracts that color from the “real” color of the object … Usually that system works just fine. This image, though, hits some kind of perceptual boundary.

So the debate still goes on.. Maybe there are 2 photos floating around. A big hoax or is this really how people see the different dress.

Earl did see the same picture above on the left and said it was blue and black and JT and I clearly saw this as White and Gold. I must admit when I first saw this I said ice blue and gold.

Well... drum roll please!

I love Easter day as it represents new life and spring is here!

Easter is spacial to me as it is the most important day in my christian faith. I grew up in a house with 4 brothers and a sister in a small house in Darby, PA.  I remember growing up I never understood her passion about Easter and Christmas. We by no means had a lot of money but she made sure of 2 things we had all we could ever ask for at Christmas and Easter. All of us would have a new Easter outfit. I have this rule in my house as well. We all get new outfits for Easter as this is a new beginning  fresh new start. Earl my darling husband had a hard time adjusting to this because he was raised differently. My mom at all cost was to make sure we had a Easter and Christmas outfit, new PJ's for Christmas eve and more gifts then we could ever ask for. I remember JT's (my sons first Christmas) I bought him so much... He fell asleep halfway opening them. He was only 6 months old but I had to follow in my mothers foot steps.  I am better now as Earl and I have come to a compromise.

So I wanted to write about this in my blog about Easter dressing. Some people won't care about this but hey ladies look at it as an excuse to get a new outfit.

So what is a trend for this season and what will make you smile years from now at your family picture.

Spring Style What can I wear now!!! Are you tired of Snow.. Below Zero Weather?

Spring Styles that can be worn now. End of winter styles that will take you into spring and summer. Lets face it springs comes and it is still cold. How many Easter Sundays are we really warm.

I am the type of person that does switch out her wardrobe. I partly did this already because I needed to see what dresses I have. WOW.. Well I have quite the dress collection and most Calvin Klein. I love the fit of this designer. I can pull or shop for a size and it is always a perfect fit. I bring this up because I do like to have all season clothing. I had a few dresses I kept in my closet from last summer because they can be for any season. Pair with a tall, motto boot, gladiator sandal. or a ballet flat.

So what can I buy now that I can look great! We all are tired of our fall and winter items. 

Wear an embellished sweatshirt! I love this idea as it is really simple. Wear an all over embellishment or just some jewels on the shoulder. A little or a lot of bling.. remember out must haves?

Wear a white blouse! White is not for only after memorial day anymore. White to me gives a crisp look!!

Fringe is something that will be huge in the fall!! So designers are implementing the style for spring and summer. Boy!!! Where is my white fringe jacket. I just scored a Denim & Co Black suede fringe jacket $2.99... Glad I picked that up so this is something to think about. Don't get a whole wardrobe in fringe but maybe a cute skirt so you are right on trend. Remember this is about the look not so much how much you spend on a item. People think OMG I would not spend $80 for a skirt! Well you don't have to.. I know I looked pulled together and all times. I work from home and I go to the Gym in the morning and come home and get dressed. Sometimes I go to the goodwill, thrift stores to find my items I sell!! What people don't know is most items still have tags! I remember one hairdresser said to me she rather shop at walmart then a thrift store. That is fine but I just found a white Jones of New York pant New with Macy's tags still attached. Paid $4.99 Yes the decimal point is in the correct spot.

I love watching the red carpet to see all the dresses and to see what is on trend. Of course, you are not going to wear a couture gown to work or to go shopping. It is the colors fabrics and details.

This is gorgeous! I always think red is a statement piece. Take from it the rosette detail and the fan look on the strapless dress.

Surprising dress of the night! Lady Gaga.. I know there are some people that will disagree with me but she was gorgeous during her sound of music bit. I never realized how gorgeous she is I know her red gloves were gross but the dress was pretty.

11. The Denim Dress

This is a must have! There are so many great options out there. In the spring and summer pair with a wedge open toe shoe and the denim dress can take you into the fall with a great tall boot. Take this out on the town with a high heel!

This is something to invest in this year! The reason they are a 2015 essential is that they can be worn all year. 

Me personally if I wanted these in my wardrobe I would buy a really cheap pair. But here is an example.

Try a wrap, asymmetrical or tiered on a long or short style. Get them on sale!!!! Buy a style that you can wear with a tee, blouse or a great sweater.

14. Shearling Coat

This is a gorgeous option and I have always loved this look! I do advised getting a faux one because I think it is obviously less expensive but it looks just as good. Great inside out items look gorgeous and just has that snow kissed glow that adds to our sense of style. This look is popping up all over the fashion world from coats, bags and even shoes!

This is such a great bag to have now I know some have a Louis Vitton carryall but I bought a pink one I bought last year for $25.

The bag you want to get is a bag that not only practical but fashion forward for 2015.

Don't opt for one that looks to casual.. Like a Canvas LL Bean or Lands' End bag. Also I am no talking about a 31 bag or Vera Bradley. I am not a fan of the last 2... no offense but I hate those bags. In my opinion they are sloppy.

I love lace and this is perfect look is perfect. My favorite lace style is a black lace overlay on a beige or flesh color. Lace is everywhere especially on dresses. I mean not only on a stunning cocktail dress but casual dresses.

24. Something Ruffled

Ruffles are so cute and can add that spacial touch to an outfit. I have in my store on eBay a DKNY Black wool coat with a ruffle trim not only along the neckline but also on the cuff of the sleeve.

Be careful with choosing a ruffle don't get that 80's blouse you have been holding onto hoping it would come back in style! 

Ruffles can also be intrepid as a Peplum style. This trend is about movement.

Yeah right.. really a white shirt for $550.. Since I recommend getting a new white tee or blouse every year I would not spend $550 or even $50
