Sweater Dress

This fall season the sweater dress is bigger then ever. I love

a cable knit sweater dress to wear with my tall boots. This gives you a classic fall look!! It is easy dressing. 1 clothing item and a great boot. The sweater dress can fit any shape because of the way it fits. When choosing a sweater dress. pay attention to fit. You don't want it too tight because then it becomes unwearable and too loose it looks sloppy. Because I am petite AKA Short... I need to get a sweater dress in the petite section or make sure it is a great length that will work.

The sweater dress can be worn so many ways!! It can also be called a knit dress or even  jumper dress. They are so comfortable! 

Here are some ways to rock your sweater dress

1. Combine the sweater dress with a form-fitting belt, leggings and riding boots. The belt will accentuate your waist and be sure that the sweater covers your behind, especially if you wear leggings. The sweater should not be too short.

2.Combine the sweater dress with slim jeans (it could work with jeans in any color) or with leather pants. To spice things us a bit, you can also wear faux fur vest over the sweater dress

3. Wear blazer over the sweater dress which will quickly make your outfit more polished and elegant. The black blazer is the perfect solution, it should not be too fitted to your body because the sweater dress is already fitted so the blazer will add the balance to the outfit

 4.Combine the sweater dress with classical pencil skirt. It is a really practical solution and it will give you an outfit for work day in the office. Add a belt which will nicely accentuate your waist. This look does not have to be boring, play with colors to add chic feel to this combination.

5. If you really want to achieve chic and sexy look, combine the sweater dress with a pair of high heeled boots or booties and wear leggings (be sure that the dress length covers you behind, you do not want to look tacky). You can play with colors, choose printed leggings or those with a pop of color if your sweater dress is in one color.

Turlenecks!!!!

TURTLENECKS!

Here we are 2016 and everyone is talking about turtlenecks as a

huge trend for fall and they are back better then ever. In my opinion I have never thought a turtleneck was not acceptable. Turtlenecks in fashion have been around since the 1950's and in the 90's we often associate the turtleneck with a preppy look and lifestyle! I love a turtleneck because it frames the face and as we get older we can hide are true age. The way your neck looks tells your age.. as they say never place a mirror on a table and look down. You may just wear a turtleneck forever!

There is always an occasion to pop on a turtleneck. If you have curves and want to show them wear a turtleneck with a longer skirt this is a great look for the office, date or even to church as it shows off your curves and sense of style and not looking too sexy.

Here are some occasions were you can rock a turtleneck. I like to wear one when I want to wear one but some people need ideas and certain situations where a turtleneck 

1. Brunch

Here is a winter white (my blog yesterday) turtleneck sweater go for a high waist denim jean with crop turtleneck sweater.

2. Dinner Party

When going to a dinner party wear a bright colored turtlneck. So you go for the bright yellow as shown with a mini skirt.

3. Travel

This is a great way to be comfortable and pulled together in a heartbeat! This is great look for layering. So grab a thin Merino Wool turtleneck and put a camel vest over it. Pull in a dark denim to pull off the look.

4. Date Night!

Go with a turtleneck sweater dress for a flirty style.Grab a pair of sexy heels with a bow and then pair it with a vest.  When choosing this option I would make sure the vest is a different color palette.  If you just want to wear the turtleneck sweater dress then make sure you have a tall boot.

5. Work, office

Great look high neck blouse.. turtleneck is just not a sweater...

WINTER WHITE..

Winter White

Winter White I do believe is a color everyone can agree to and everyone looks stunning in it. You make the outfit to who you are. Winter White is so elegant I love a pale blue or Pale pink Cashmere sweater with a winter white wool pant. I also am a favorite of a winter white coat. 

Is winter white practical? Some will say no but it is elegant and pairing a a oversize winter white coat over jeans becomes instantly chic when a white palette is chosen.

When wearing white with white never try to match the winter white with  another shade of winter white, but do focus on rich fabrics with texture and plush. Mixing fabrics and textures keeps us from looking like we work in lab.

So what are the do's and don't when wearing winter white?

Here are some suggestions on wearing winter white and there are rules and they are a lot different then wearing white in summer.

1. Do mix shades of white and cream in different textures and weights.

Add dimention to a all white look by mixing variations of white and cream.

reach for contrasting textures like denim and cashmere!

2. Go for tailored pieces

This look is perfect as it gives a dressed up vibe.

DON'T: This is NOT the time to squeeze into a smaller size or even wear a size that is too big. Everything shows in white.

3. Do: Use it as a clean canvas?

Ok.. Lisa.. What does that mean.. right?

Take advantage of a clean canvas by going with a patterned coat or a great statement necklace.

Do try to keep your outfit as sophisticated and simple.. this is a great opportunity to wear those hard to style pieces. 

DON'T over accessorize.. Add a few key pieces as sunglasses, bag, or a great print coat! But keep the look clean!

4. Wear Contrasting Shoes

When Wearing all white pop on a pair of great shoes in a cherry red, colbalt blue, or even a basic black shoe!

DON'T Wear white shoes with a winter white outfit.... NEVER!!!
