Well the weekend is here and most of us may be enjoying a night out at the movies. Here in Ohio it is hot and sticky and I am still recovering from total knee replacement! I was finally able to shave and was so happy about that!

So I know when I was working in a office I was cold all the time and put a bummer into the summer fashion. I wanted to show off my cute sleeveless blouse or dress. I wanted to show off my tanned bare legs that I worked on weekends at the pool or a vacation at the Jersey Shore.

Our winter clothes are put away and we are looking forward to wearing out sundresses and shorts. Again while to is so got that you can't wait to jump into a cold pool your office environment may be cold as the frozen tundra.  Coming in from the heat after lunch and walking into the frozen environment and your coworker is so cold she has those fingerless gloves on you know it is cold and you have an abundance of cardigans at your desk what will still make you stand out from the rest.

So having a few options at our desk is a must have. Most people that are not stylish have their grandma cardigan over their chair in case they are cold. Have some options to match your outfit and keep you the fashionista you are!

Women know if they are a fashionista or not. They do not hear it from their partners, relatives or friends. Most people are not going to come out and say you are a fashionista. Most women just know and here are some signs you are obsessed with fashion.

Even though most of my items are from a thrift store or Good Will... Yes... 95% of my wardrobe is from Thrift stores or Good Will.. I love the people that refuse to even go into one of those stores...

Just think 50% of the items in there are new with tags... HMMMMM..

Is there a lot of signature bracelets on your arm?

I have 2 bracelets that I wear with anything and pair with additional bracelets. I have a Pandora bracelet and my signet chain link bracelet.

Can you spot a designer or a piece of clothing someone is wearing. 

I do this all the time. I asked my doctor if she was wearing Born shoes... She said how did you know. I do this with clothing all the time. When I am shopping for the business I can spot a Chico's piece a mile away.

Most people will come up to me and ask if a trend is a good idea? 

For example, Overalls.. I like overalls and I loved them when I was pregnant,

Will I wear a pair of overalls even though when I hit the restroom I will be naked.

I am ok with that...

Do you leave work to go to a sample sale;

I have done this way back... I would schedule a vacation day so I could watch Fashion Day on QVC.

Do you treat the oven as extra closet space. 

Uh...no... there is no way I am putting anything into my over... That is not even a maybe good idea.. Personally I think it is gross... Can you see putting your new crisp white shirt in there?


If you work in a office do you have an extra pair of shoes or a few pair of shoes.. (I always have a few pair of shoes tucked away in my bottom filing cabinet.

So do you suffer in high heels... 
I usually do not because of my knee problems but I love a wedge. I can wear a  wedge and I can wear a high wedge. They are just more comfortable.


Can you get up for a sale at 3am?
You can't get up to go to the gym or for work... but Target or H&M has a collaboration.. you are up at 2am waiting... (to be honest I do not ever do this.... I will get up early to make sure I hit the thrift store for 50% off everything. But getting up at 3am to pay full retail... NO thanks.. and I don't want to hear you are saving a lot of money. Not true..

Bookshelves/coffee tables lets everyone know you are a fashionista!!!!
Do you display your purses and shoes on a bookshelf? Does your coffee table are adorned with fashion books or the latest copy of Vogue.
Mine does not because I am not a single woman. I do have one son so you can say with a husband and 2 male dogs that I am outnumbered for girly girl stuff. If I was single I would have great hardcover fashion books on my coffee table. I would not put m shoes or handbags on a bookshelf for easy display. I love to have my shoes still in boxes and handbags in their dust bag to take care of them.
Great TIP: If you would love to have shoes in their original boxes but you
want to know what is in each box.. take a picture and put it on the box

Sunglasses
Do you need different sunglasses for different outfits? I am guilty of this!!
You can have a white outfit with chunky silver chain and have gold rim sunglasses? No you will get a white rim or silver rim sunglasses. 

Do you ask a perfect stranger where they got a particular item
I do this if I love it.. or I google the piece. 
I am used to people asking where I got item.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!

I am sure you are off to a BBQ this weekend or you may be hosting a gathering. This is the unofficial start of Summer!

Summer is here and I am sure your summer clothes are  tucked away in your closet, manicure and pedicure are done. All winter shoes are put aways and in their place are the cute wedge open toe heel or a overload of shoes that show off our pedicure!

This weekend also lets us try something different. This is the weekend that we can maybe try a hot trend but this weekend can also let us explore fashion and wear something out of your comfort zone. You never know you may have found a new favorite that will be a go to for your fashion style!

I am Back from my Knee Surgery

I had total knee replacement! I am so happy it is over but it hurt a lot more then the last time I had it on the right. I have not been on to write my blog because I was having so much pain. I could not bare weight on it so I went back to the surgeon and he could not believe how swelling was in my leg. I am doing better now! I feel like a slob I mean I am getting dressed and showered but I am just siting here sometimes sleeping and sometimes just watching junk!

Lets talk fashion!!!!

Women are banned from wearing flats to the Canes Film Festival.  This was a unwritten rule. So what do you think?  Well my opinion is that  this is ridiculous as some of the people attending are elderly or have a foot injury r a problem wearing heels. The ban was on women and men attending the Canes Film Festival. There were women turned away from various parties, screenings one was turned away for wearing ankle boots and leggings. Get this.. So you think a wedge sandal is appropriate? No women were turned away for wearing a platform sandal.

The highlight of the film festival is a movie called "Carol"  Which had a female led cast and Female directors. The movie is about a lesbians romance that occurs in the 1920's and falls for a married woman. Rooney Mara who is one of the actress said the policy is "very disappointment.

This unwritten policy has no rhyme or reason. There were some women were wearing flats
under their ball gowns. The  Women were seen wearing flats and nothing was done. For example we seen black patent leather flats with black with red heart flats and a Dansko Clog in red. Dansko? really these are mostly worn by nurses or physicians. Well women were not the only ones that were turned away wearing inappropriate shoes.  One journalist was stopped because of his silver rhinestone loafers. Reason was men need to wear black only. Another man was spotted wearing the ever so comfortable and casual boat shoe.

Is this favoritism or they just want to make sure that there is not tasteless fashion and lets  face it you can have a stunning outfit and a shitty pair of shoes can ruin the outfit.For insistence Chinese actor Sun Zu Yang who was photographed with Paris Hilton was wearing a tuxedo jacket inspired by a disco ball and silver sequined shoes.

Actress Emily Blunt who attended at press conference for Sicario said "Everyone should wear flats, to be honest." A directors wife was turned away for not wearing heels was turned away as her husband was welcomed in and Director Asif Kapadia said she was eventually aloud in. Organizers of the festival said there was no policy in place for heels were banned. The only requirement in place was that women have to wear a formal dress. 

Here is my take on this! I think it really has nothing to do with the heels. Some people were even turned for wearing a heel. I think it is about style and sophistication.  You don't want a person wearing a meat dress. Shoes that shout look at me with the crazy shoes!  Look at me I look like a Swan. I think that women should dress how they want. Some outfits just do not work with a dress, suits or even Shorts. I think it is more a motive to control the sophistication of the event.

When Wearing a Cropped Pant/Jean

I know sometimes a cropped pant is hard to wear. I know for me as for most women a crop pant needs to be hemmed or just get a Capri. Most cropped pants are too long and look like floods. Here are a few tips to make sure you always look your best! 

If you are short I would skip the crop all together or wear a heel if you are short. If you have big calves the crop leg will accentuate them.

Wear a short dress or long tunic with a crop pant. This look shows a dress and the classic length pant and a cropped pant.  The dress is from Calvin Klein and pant and crop pant is from Zara

Wear a short top or tuck in the top. Capri's/cropped pants look great with a cute top tucked in. 

Wear cropped pant with a statement necklace.

This is a classic and elegant look to wear a cropped pant. The necklace makes the cropped pant look hip.

Pair a cropped pant with a bohemian top.

Cropped Pant with a jacket is a beautiful work look!

 Wide Leg Pant with a wedge heel.

A wide leg jean is a great way to draw attention away from your ankles. I love this style with a cuff look.

So when wearing a cropped pant remember that the look is meant to look chic but in order to make it work friendly pair with with a jacket. Each combination goes with a certain mood. I personally think the best way to wear a cropped pant is with a heel or wedge. A remember a Capri will sometimes be a crop pant on some ladies!

I will be away for a few days maybe more. I am getting total knee replacement! I will let you know how I am doing! I did get some great Victoria Secret PINK clothing items for Mother's day so I think I am all set!

Mother's Day 2015

Mother's Day 2015!

Happy Mother's day to all the mothers out there and I mean all mothers. My dogs are also my babies and they know me as mommy. That is one the of the reasons I am writing in all blue today as of this year I have all boys. I have my awesome 12 year old Jeremiah that gave me the best day of my life the day he was born. I have 2 dogs that are both boys! Crosby and Trigger. I did have my beautiful Addie but she passed away in November. So here I am a proud Mom of 3 boys!!

I am getting a total knee replacement on Monday so you may not see postings for a few days.
Today my husband and son took me to Cheesecake Factory and bought me a sweatshirt from Victoria Secret PINK to wear home from the hospital. 

So usually if this was a normal year but really who has a normal year???? I would be going to brunch and we usually love to have Earl's mom down to take out to brunch but she never comes down. It is just 2 hours away so I was hoping she want to see her grandson but I can't do everything. So today I am going to talk about Brunch Styles. I know some people go straight from church to brunch or vice versa.
