She is America's sweetheart and  I always love the way she dresses. In every award show she is never on the worst dress list. Her style and pose are perfect. She is a mom, wife, actress producer and now fashion designer. In my opinion she excels in all aspects of her life.

Reese Witherspoon has launched a new clothing line Draper James

This is a gorgeous clothing line that is not cheap but is adorable! She did not want to have this huge collaboration with a major retail because of the quality that has her name on the label. She did not just slap her name on a line of clothing, accessories and home decor she was hands on in every aspect of creation of this line.

This clothing line was launched on Tuesday and just a few days before her new movie is released "Hot Pursuit"  The clothes are southern inspired but I find them to be perfect for the spring and summer. You don't have to be a southern girl for these adorable clothes.  The clothes are brighter, prettier and unapologetic pretty. She wants this to come across as pretty as what is wrong with being pretty! Typically in the south clothes are colorful prints, gingham, clothes are meant to make you feel better about yourself as I have always stated get dressed. 

Reese made sure this clothing line was made in the south as 40% of the line is made in the south and the e-Commerce site has city guides. This line is just not about clothing as you will find home decor, jewelry, handbags, stationary and personalization items for a one of a kind gift that is made in the south! The details in the line are very important to Reese as why she has the hands on every aspect of the line. She did not compromise and she sent item back that were not good enough as to why selling her line in Target would mean a hands off approach and she admits it is a big deal that my name is on this because it is just not my name bu also my parents as well as grandparents. She recalls the love of fashion since she was a little girl and remembers her Grandmother taking her to Chicago and Atlanta to go shopping and she could pick out 2 dresses and this was a big deal to her.

With this line she wanted more then just to sell clothing and home goods. She wanted to

create a site to promote southern cities and encourage people to travel there and buy southern made goods. The line with come out with 5 lines of Draper James a year and the cost is not Target cheap it is realistic. Clothing will run $50 to $400. Jewelry will run $25 to $250. Handbags and other leather goods will run $25 to $250. Home decor will run $14 for pencils to $400 to silver handmade bowels. She wants the line to be a lifestyle not a dress code. This line is to help the Mom, wife and time starved woman to be able to be puled together. The line will feature clothing for all sizes as she want all women to feel pretty and wants to achieve the looks for younger women as well as the grandmother. We all can look and feel good at any age and size.

Come fall there will be a 3,000 square foot flagship store opening in Nashville. She wants

shopping to be a friendly experience as she will have a room in the store that will be a mirror of her own room.  She wanted to accomplish to show the south to people as she said she had no idea what the Hampton's were until she learned it from the Ralph Lauren Decor.

While 40% of the Draper James line is made in the south 70% of the line is made in the US. The clothes are adorable and I of course will be on the lookout for these at a discount so I can bring them to you but in the meantime I can incorporate these styles into your wardrobe.

Surgery Recovery... and what to wear!

Surgery Recovery and Clothes

I will be undergoing knee replacement surgery on 5/11 and I keep thinking what can I wear. I know I will feel like crap but what do I wear so I can feel a little better. I do know that I don't want to stay in PJ's or robe all day while recovering at home so I am going to get dressed in my sweats. I did buy some new items from Victoria Secret Pink and from the Old Navy Active site. Even though I will not put makeup on and I know I will be napping a bit through the day I at least want to feel put together. I know why should I be worried about how I look! I am getting a knee replaced!

When having major surgery it interrupts family and personal routines. Looking good while in recovery will provide a psychological lift.During any surgery your clothing options may be limited but start exploring what will work and what is just not going to work. I recall after my 1st knee replacement my sister came over to take care of me and we were going to go out to lunch and I got in the shower.. it was a week after surgery and I thought.. yes thought I was going to wear my shinny jeans?  OK I am not sure what I was thinking.

So obviously swelling will limit what clothing you wear on any part

of the body. So go with loose clothing pants, shorts and a nice A-line tee or loose sweatshirt. I did get some of my post clothing items off ebay. I got 3 new Old Navy Active Shorts (all 3 $12) VS Yoga pant and a Bling VS tee to go with it. I have been picking items up here and there to get me ready for surgery. I also got a awesome gift from My sister a cute pair of PJ's! Love them!!! Thanks Liz and a awesome mother's day gift from my baby.. JT..

Here are a few things I got to help me recover

With numerous options of casual clothing at home you want to not stay in your nightgown all night... if the PJ's are cute then yes. Buy look "together" or at least make an effort to get something new on cleaned and maybe a little lip gloss it will make you feel better!!

Old navy has some great casual sweatpants as well as Gap. I have bought many in the thrift store... I love saving money... I love the people that write blogs and tell you to go out and get this dress for $770... I tell you look at this dress for $770 now I can get you the style and look for $30.. I do this to myself as well when I need clothing I look for bargains. 

I am also going to recommend wearing shoes when up and around. These will give you support.Hey we will be less steady on the feet so we need more stability!!!!

Remember you want to have control over your clothing pieces. If I need something at the mall or store and try to send my husband out.. oh dear Lord... I am not sure what he would bring home. SHOP BEFORE SURGERY!!!! You only know what preferences you like! 

What if you have a unexpected surgery? Try getting something mail order catalogs or you can hire me to help you with this. (well wait for a month until I recover) There are many options for you out there. We are already going to be feeling like crap so what make it any harder. Dress with comfort but presentable.

There are many options for clothing for different surgeries. If surgery is on arm or shoulder make sure you have garments that ave a lot of stretch or button down.

This time in our like may seem like out of control but we can take care of one thing that is having something decent to wear and to remember to get changed everyday. A little lip gloss goes a long way!

Met Gala 2015 Hot Fashion Trends

The theme for this years Gala was "China Through the looking glass" This is one of fashion's biggest nights and celebrities and designers can take a real risk.

Rhianna: Gorgeous Yellow and a Bold look! What a show stopper!

I see this as a look into the future. These dresses will set the theme for the fall season. It looks like Asian theme and bold fabrics will be the trend coming fall. The correct fashion term is Chinoiserie and this was seen all over the runways for the fall season.  We seen a lot of red and embellished floral gowns.The Met Gala also seen bare skin all over. I think the stars went "the looking glass" version the of the theme but the theme was meant to be a Asian theme. Most of the fashion hit the theme perfect and some were a swing and a miss. I do like the Asian theme fashions I always find them unique and I know Chico's always did a great job on designing fashion for the look.

Kim Kardashian: Definitely Looking through.. not sure it is glass..

The theme saw red all over the "red" carpet . Resse Witherspoon rocked a gorgeous red dress. Simple and perfect. Looks so elegant! She did not need to go over the top and people are still talking about her.. Elegant

Another red look that rocked and pulled in more of an Asian theme is  Helen Mirren. This cut out in the dress along with a bold Asian inspired earrings are stunning!!

This dress has a Asian flair with the long train very dragon like and the print on the wide a-line skirt. Zendaya rocked this look! I the fall look for long train styles in wedding attire and print skirts as well as bold earrings.

Sarah Jessica Parker Looked great in going with the theme of the night. The head dress was a little much but the dress was gorgeous with the Asian embroidery on the hem line. She was just gorgeous!

Let's get away from red and black and go to the gold. When trying to achieve a Asian look gold is more appropriate then silver and this gown worn by Tabitha Simmons looks like a Empress. 

So who was the best dressed? I know Rhianna Looked stunning in the yellow cape but the best dressed is Mrs. Clooney!
Amal Clooney: Was stunning with the look of the Asian red with the bodice that looks like armor! Love love love it!

I have seen this saying all over the web today. Let me first say before anything I am by no means a star wars fan I have only seen 1 of the movies that I remember but I am sure it was more. I know there are so many fans of this iconic movie series and some are women. I would not wear any clothing star wars but I thought it would be fun to show you what is out there today on "May the fourth"

Earlier in the Week I showed you how Uggs are getting into the frenzy with the limited edition shoes. Uniglo came out with 23 limited edition tee shirts for "May The Fourth" The movie does not come out until December but this marks an unofficial holiday as it get the fans more geared up for the release. 

So this Star Wars fashion frenzy actually started in 2014. I remember listening to 

people and when designers were coming out with the Star Wars theme shoes, dress, etc.. I really thought the movie was coming out soon but only to find it was a year away. In 2014 we saw Rodarte's Gowns highlight several Characters on dresses and Vans released a low top sneaker for the lovers on Star Wars.

There are some things we need to know by age 30 and one of those is out style sense. Do you have a personal style? I know mine really has not changed from then. I love to coordinate, I love shoes! Love the perfect piece of jewelry to go with the outfit.

You see a cute bra and you search for the size you think you are and nothing your size is gone! You then search for something that will fit I will squeeze into it. Don't do it!!! 1. It is unflattering 2. can ruin a very great outfit!

So what is your style Chunky, bold or daintily and classic? I love both as I believe that a certain out calls for certain Jewelry. By age 30 there should be no question on how we approach jewelry I love classic piece I am not one for glass beads or pieces that look like my son made it. I don't like craft shows for jewelry. I do however like art shows as you can find unique and classy jewelry. Keep Jewelry that you love and wear! Don;t keep around jewelry that is not you anymore. Purge it!

Hire  Tailor!

You should know that you need a tailor to get a great fit on some items. Skirts and dresses are a problem you need to know where it hits you make a difference. I am short so dress pants sometimes need to be hemmed. Love a style of dress but it is too long don't wear it and don't put it back get it shorter. Get a tailor that you go to frequently and have a perfect wardrobe! Look at this blazer how it is a perfect fit. Did not come that way as we all have different length arms and the width of our shoulders.

A Princess is Born!!!!

So when each and everyone of you was born there was a princess born!!! We are all princesses and while Princess Kate has given birth to a baby girl we can celebrate the princess in each one of us!

I am so happy Princess Kate has given birth to a girl! I think each and every woman in the world has a smile! It is empowering that a girl can change the world! I wonder what her name is going to be? I am hoping for Mary or Anne but we will see. AS many of you know I was a history major with focus on European History and Egyptian History. So I get a little more excited about these things then most people!
