Fashion Investment #3 Classic Handbag

Happy Friday!!! Here were are starting the day at 12 degrees!

I am continuing the idea of investment piece is it worth the money?

THE CLASSIC HANDBAG!

If you spend the money on a great handbag you will not be disappointed! I do not sell handbags at the moment because I personally think it is hard to tell weather this is a "real" or "fake" bag. 

I have a first hand example of spending money on a great bag and it goes out of style quick and it sits there collecting dust! Guess that is why they come with a dust bag! I bought a D&B giraffe doctor bag that I was fortunate to get half of what I paid for it! 

I was recently with my sister and we were at a second hand store and there was a classic black bag with the tags still attached. I told her to get this bag since it was a classic bag and will never go out of style! In the trip I bought a Louis Viton purse for $16!! I thought it was fake but I liked the style! Well when I got home I found this be a authentic Louis Viton bag!

So what is a classic handbag and what is something that will just Be a trend?

These bags are pricey but will last for years!

These bags are all handmade and exclusive style can be $9000.00 to $150,000.00

Yes $150,000.00... I know that is NEVER going to happen!

These are fashion editors favorite bags! These are a simple design and a carry all bag! Prices range from $1500 to $2000.

Now there are many designers that have this design but more in my price range!

There re so many others that are way out of my price range!

In conclusion it is worth it to spend the extra money on a classic bag that will never go out of style! My mom had a "pocketbook" addiction! Yes in the east in Philly we call it a "pocketbook"

DVF #2 Fashions that are worth the investment: Diane Von Frustenberg Dress

I am sick of this weather!!! Who is with me! I am tired of the slush and ice and a dirty car!

The #2 must have item to have in your wardrobe is a Diane Von Frustenberg Wrap Dress!  This has been a hot item since the 1970's. This is a classic designer that her legacy and styles never go out of style!

When I worked at Apple Vacations before Earl and I met I wore Diane Von Frustenberg 60% of the time. I had silk blouses skirts and pants. I loved the way her fashions made me feel.  I always felt pulled together.

Invest in a DVF Wrap Dress or shirt dress! You will pull this out time and time again! This is a piece that you  will wear time and time again. This is great for the woman that is super busy a career woman or Mom that does not have hours to get ready for a date.

Change it up with a statement necklace and watch and you have a pulled together look!

This is an investment piece but will never go out of style and you will get compliments all day and night long!  Great weather you gain a few pounds that time of month!

Hump DAY!!!

I have been thinking about this a good bit and was wondering if women buy clothes every season or do you just buy one piece? DO most women work their wardrobe year after year? 

I LOVE to have new clothes but don't want to spend a bundle. I do clean my closets every season. I do get sell half my items as I grown tired of clothing items quickly. 

The one thing I miss about working is I don't dress up everyday but I do shower, makeup and  wear stylish items so I feel better and I need to look the part. 

So my question is... Investment piece?

Is there such a thing?

So how much would be considered an investment piece and are they called investment pieces to justify that it cost possibly then your mortgage payment for a month? I know a Burberry Trench or a Channel bag will pricey so maybe the name investment pieces came up because we need to explain this to our husbands?

So investment... This is usually something that you can make a profit or at least sell down the road and make money.So next time you see a pricey item think will this really be an investment long term and can I use this but get some money out of it when I am finished? There is a iPhone app that will give you an idea what a item will be worth in the future. The app is Realbook 

Items that are a limited addition will be the best bet. I recently saw the coach purses that featured Snoopy these are selling for big bucks on eBay and then I also saw a pair of limited edition Jordan's sell for above and beyond the retail.

Another great investment piece is a high end watch such as, Rolex Cartier or Tag... You will double your money within 2 years.

So when it comes to shelling out the big bucks or an "investment" piece think about it. Will I use it once and then let it sit or is it so spacial that I am afraid to wear it.

I am going to go through 10 items that are investment pieces that I think are worth the money. These are staples to have in your wardrobe, Maybe not a $3000 watch or handbag but items that will take you season after Season.

Chic Suit! Everyone needs a suit in their wardrobe! Maybe not in a bright color but a classic Ivory or Black suit. I love a crisp white suit. It is a classic and can be worn dressed up for a special occasion

Fashion News... Guess and Gucci

Guess or Gucci

Part of my blog I will also bring fashion news. I know when looking in the thrift stores or consignment shops I see a purse that has a Studded G or G logos the on the purse I get excited that is is a Gucci. Well at least when I first started. These 2 brands logos may look the same to the person that does not have fashion common sense. I don't disagree that a Guess purse that has a studded G do have the brand in the purse as Guess but it is deceiving and can be confusing.

There is a big difference in quality in a Guess product and a Gucci Product. This battle has been ongoing for sometime now and Gucci has lost case after case in the trademark war.

I have to admit that sneakers athletic shoe is really really close... Almost to close...

Hello!!! Well groundhog day came and went and some saw their shadow some did not. I think it will be what it will be! 

There is still winter left and spring is coming soon!

When does everyone start updating their wardrobe for Spring? I have started to do this and loving the dresses for the spring and summer. One of the must haves is a lace dress. Even if you are not a dress person try t fit lace into your wardrobe for the season. Maybe a short sleeve lace tee with a cute navy short.

These runway styles are a little crazy but shows you that this look is hot!

White lace is hot for the seasons ahead! White is a must have for the season anyway so adding white lace is a perfect idea!

Rain Anyone? Sorry still thinking about Seattle and that terrible play at the end of the game! The Spring will feature a trench coat as a must have and or a Cape. This is a big trend and goes right into the football season!

Well Since the Patriots won the Superbowl Why not show the model that is also known as Mrs. Brady in a stylish trench?

So lets talk fashion Spring 2015? Trench coat is a must have a really is a staple in any wardrobe! This will take you right into the fall season! Buy a trench in a khaki color. There are so many cute colors for the spring trench but to get the maximum look for your money is go with a nutral color. I would also consider a double breasted style for a classic look. I will have trench coats listing most everyday and the one that comes to mind is the yellow trench coat.

Happy Superbowl Sunday!!

I did not have a post yesterday because I was in Toledo and Detroit for some awesome hockey games for my son!

I was getting dressed yesterday and wanted to wear all the great items I have in my own closet but the weather was not cooperating with me. I hate when that happens!!
